Lakeland Engineering Equipment Company is excited to welcome Matt Eagan, Account Manager, to our Kansas City team. With a strong background in automation and industrial experience, Matt brings a practical, solutions-driven approach that aligns perfectly with Lakeland’s commitment to supporting customers with expert guidance and reliable products.
In his role, Matt serves as a main point of contact and trusted advisor for customers throughout the Kansas City region and surrounding areas. His focus is on helping customers solve electrical control and automation challenges by identifying the right components and solutions for each unique application. Rather than simply supplying products, Matt takes pride in understanding the full scope of a customer’s needs to deliver real, lasting value.
Industry Experience & Customer Focus
Matt was drawn to Lakeland because of its long history as a Midwest distributor that still to this day prioritizes personal relationships while offering a strong lineup of manufacturers. That combination of local support and technical depth made it a natural fit.
Before joining Lakeland, Matt spent three years in the automation sector working with Hitech Automation and IFM Efector. Prior to that, he gained valuable leadership and field experience as a foreman and project manager at lime mines across the Midwest. This blend of industrial and automation experience gives him a unique perspective when helping customers improve performance, safety, and efficiency.
What Matt enjoys most about the electrical and engineering field is the tangible impact of problem-solving, seeing how the right solution can directly enhance a machine’s operation or help a facility avoid costly downtime. His strength lies in digging into applications and finding the best solution, not just the easiest one.
Looking ahead, Matt is especially excited to build long-term relationships with customers and become a trusted resource they can rely on.
The Person Behind the Role
Outside of work, Matt enjoys spending time with his wife, Samantha, and their one-year-old son, Oliver, along with their two dogs, Ziva and Zuma.
In his free time, Matt enjoys hunting for great deals, usually through Facebook Marketplace on equipment, tools, or really anything with a motor. He has a passion for finding items that others might overlook, fixing them up, and putting them back to work instead of letting them end up as scrap.
A fun fact about Matt: he is also a certified EMT.
